I am a curious person and love to find out what new and fascinating happenings the world has to offer. I am one of those wacky weird people who loves the mornings.
BOOKS I READ
Recommendations, and I am also a fan girl for a few Authors. Seriously I buy everything they write lol.
MY PROCESS
I have a slight case of OCD, and it helps me to write in an organized method giving myself road maps to where my story needs to go. I suppose that makes me an uber plotter. I will tell you that I could never write on a blank paper. It's not in my nature.
MY THOUGHTS ON COVERS
I like for the cover to reflect something important to both the main characters. Take for instance the cover for my first book, it reflects the door to The Duchess which is the lodge where most of the story takes place. This is a 7 book arc and The Duchess plays a central role almost as if it is also a character.
I love elegant designs so I purposely chose to leave out an inspiration picture. After much discussion with other more experienced authors, I will be updating the cover to include a male model. Yet the original design will be the background. I am still learning the business and marketing side of the writing world.
FREE TIME
I love to hang out with my dogs in the back yard or having conversations on Facebook with friends around the world
HOW DID YOU START WRITING
The first story I ever wrote was for a literary competition in college. It was a story called Melting Icicles, and it was about growing up in Chicago during the late 1970's with gangs rampant on the streets. I won second place.
FIRST BOOK THAT MADE AN IMPACT ON ME
The first story I ever read was The Adventure Of Winnie-the-Pooh by A A Milne. You know how the in the Godfather they say ..."Take it to the mattress." Well I take it to the bear. I also when you read my first book made the character do the same. That book sits on my desk and it is loved, dirty, dog eared and highlighted in a slew of awesome colors. So if you ever don't know what to do, do as I do and TAKE IT TO THE BEAR!
FAVORITE BOOKS
This question is hard for me, why? Because I love books that makes me feel something that I am lacking. I lost my mother and sister last year, they were both sick, I was their caretaker, and it was hard. Some days it was super hard and unbearable to breath.
I loved them both dearly and it was frustrating not being able to do much for them. During those challenging days I read books voraciously. Many time I re-read my favorites because they had the power to make me laugh. Remember why I was caring for others.
Most of all they helped me escape for a bit. Books by Amber Kell, Lynn Hagen, Charlie Richards, Stephanie Hehct and Sandrine Gasq Dion made me feel less alone. Their books stayed up with me pulling all nighters. So what are my favorite books? Who knows, what I can tell you that Baxley the spider made me cry. Author made me hope. Skylar made me believe. Jared made me love. The characters were my favorites.
